E-Learning Courses
PRCH offers two interactive, web-based courses for physicians in residency to fulfill or supplement their training in essential topics within reproductive and sexual health. Residents can take courses at their own pace, and residency directors and coordinators can view exam scores, assign tasks, lead or facilitate discussions, or generate reports regarding learners’ progress. Adolescent Reproductive and Sexual Health
This course includes five lessons on male adolescent reproductive and sexual health, contraception, sexually transmitted infections, options counseling and unintended pregnancy as well as caring for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning youth. The in-depth course is designed specifically to address curricular requirements for pediatrics set by the Accreditation Council on Graduate Medical Education (AGCME).
The curriculum includes standardized case videos that are designed to facilitate discussion about how health professionals can best interact with adolescent patients when providing reproductive and sexual health care. Those videos are available here.
Lessons to Enhance Awareness of Reproductive Needs (LEARN)
The LEARN course is designed for physicians training in obstetrics and gynecology, and includes five lessons on short-term contraceptive methods, long-acting reversible contraception, sterilization, unintended pregnancy and abortion, and management of early pregnancy loss. Initially created to assist religiously affiliated residency programs in fulfilling curricular requirements set by the ACGME, the course is currently being piloted by a wide range of programs across the United States.
