"I Trust My Patients" -- Dr. Siripanth Nippita

November 19, 2012

Siripanth Nippita, MDIn yesterday's New York Times Magazine, Leadership Training Academy Fellow Siripanth Nippita, MD, published a letter in response to an article profiling anti-abortion extremist Charmaine Yoest. As an obstetrician/gynecologist who provides abortions, Dr. Nippita cares for the women Yoest disregards.

Unlike Yoest, Dr. Nippita "... cannot imagine telling my 14-year-old patient that she must carry to term a pregnancy resulting from rape. I do not presume to know more than my 30-year-old patient about her reasons to terminate a pregnancy. ... I trust my patients to be the best judges of their own circumstances."

Happy Thanksgiving from CEO Jodi Magee!

November 21, 2012

Jodi Magee, PRCH CEO and PresidentI am grateful for each of you, our supporters, for your commitment to quality reproductive health care.

I thank you for every email and phone call you've made urging your legislators to use medical evidence, not ideology, to guide the policies that affect women's health and lives.

I appreciate every dollar you've given us, trusting that our physicians will continue to advocate for patients' needs—in medicine, the media, and in statehouses across the country.

Our doctors join me in saying THANK YOU! for lending us your voice and your financial support this past year. I hope you enjoy a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Tell Congress: Support Servicewomen's Health

November 14, 2012Board chair Douglas Laube, MD, MEd

Women in the military don’t have insurance coverage for abortion in cases of rape or incest. Our board chair Douglas Laube, MD, MEd, said: "As a veteran and a physician, I am appalled by the military’s refusal to provide comprehensive care for soldiers who have been raped.... The military prides itself on top-of-the-line care for the wounded. It’s time for rape survivors to get the same treatment." Congress will soon finalize the National Defense Authorization Act—please take action today and urge your members of Congress to lift the military’s ban on coverage for abortion in cases of rape and incest.

Our women in uniform dedicate their lives to protecting our country—it's time for the law to protect them. Add your voice. Email your elected officials and tell them to support servicewomen’s health!
