Back Up Your Birth Control Day

Join PRCH as we raise awareness about emergency contraception and increase access to EC on Back Up Your Birth Control Day. The Adolescent Reproductive Health Education Project module on EC discusses the safety, efficacy, and mechanism of action of emergency contraception, as well as the barriers that young people face when trying to access it. Healthcare providers can find clinical information about EC in PRCH's publication Emergency Contraception: A Practitioner's Guide.

Court Requires FDA to Expand Access to EC
March 23, 2009
PRCH board chair Suzanne T. Poppema, MD, praised today’s federal ruling that lowers the age at which young women and their partners can buy non-prescription emergency contraception; it is now 17. Our 2009 Policy Agenda urges the FDA to make EC available to all ages without a prescription.
