Dr. Susan Wood is associate professor of public health at George Washington University where she directs the Jacobs Institute of Women’s Health. After serving as a Director of Women’s Health at the FDA, she resigned in 2005 on principle over the agency’s delay in approving emergency contraception for over-the-counter use. Her academic, governmental, and advocacy work focuses on the use of scientific knowledge in public policy.
