Teen Pregnancy Rate Up: First Rise Since 1990
Our Adolescent Reproductive Health and Education Project (ARHEP) addresses the problems highlighted by the latest teen pregnancy data from the Guttmacher Institute. Between 2005 and 2006, the teen rate of pregnancy rose 3%, with the teen birth rate increasing by 4% and the abortion rate by 1%.
To lower the teen pregnancy rate and improve adolescents’ overall sexual health, ARHEP teaches physicians and other medical professionals the facts about treating teens. We offer free PowerPoint presentations about best practices for contraception, sexuality education, options counseling, and other subjects, all created by adolescent medicine specialists.

“Why do I provide [abortions]? ... Because nothing gives me greater satisfaction than having a woman walk scared and sad into my office, and watching her leave unburdened and relieved.”
